Notably, in 2012, Dr. Simopoulos collaborated with Dr. Matlock on a pilot study to address (and remedy) the lack of safety data regarding the combination of cosmetic and gynecological surgery in long-duration procedures. “The Safety of Long Duration Combination Plastic and Gynecological Surgery Performed on an Outpatient Basis” was published in Cosmetic Surgery Times and concluded that the combination proved to be safe in Matlock’s and Dr. Simopoulos’ specific selected subset of patients.

Alexander Simopoulos currently practices at FPA Women’s Health in Los Angeles, California, where he specializes in all aspects of women’s health, including an extensive array of cosmetic procedures: liposuction, the Brazilian Butt lift, the G Shot, facial filler, botox, vaginal tightening and labiaplasty. Prior to this he spent close to a decade as the Medical Director at Beverly Hills Sunset Surgery Center. He oversaw a multitude of specialists in urogynecology, gynecology, cosmetic surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Simopoulos also served as a Clinical Instructor at InnoGyn at this time; he trained international and U.S. physicians in surgical techniques.

Dr. Simopoulos is certified by numerous medical organizations focused on women’s health, including the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and the International Society of Cosmetogynecology. He earned his M.D. at University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in gynecology and obstetrics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
